Watch out, we got a badass over here!Just joking. But no, unfortunately there is no way to play Stronghold 2 1.4.1 in LAN. One of the reasons for that might be the fact that most of people would still play it on GameRanger anyway. I do agree however that it would be a lot better to have the option to play it in LAN as well. For obvious reasons.But for start I would love to be able to fight against AI lords with human allies. Even with multiplayer manager that doesn't work so great, they don't attack as hard as they would in singleplayer. Unfortunately as Mathew Steel and EaglePrince have already mentioned, it's not possible to play Stronghold 2 Multiplayer via LAN.

This is likely due to changes in support for Stronghold 2 Multiplayer as Mathew also pointed out and at this present moment in time it's also not possible to edit the game/modify it in order to add this feature in - this information is compiled inside the.exe (I assume, as it's nowhere else to be found.) and therefore non-editable or readable. You'd need Firefly to release the source code of Stronghold 2 to be able to edit this, which I don't see happening any time soon, unfortunately.I have, however, added this suggestion to the. Last time I checked they had not progressed at all, but that was some months ago. Look, I know how to play it online, but I tried it offline(v1.2) and it worked. Now I'm looking for a modification that enables the LAN offline feature in v1.4.1 OfflineI'll just ignore that impatient 'Look' comment. I read the question just fine. If I knew of a mod (and I did search for you) I'd have given you the link. As Chris and Eagle pointed out as well, it was disabled along with the online servers.In order for a game to be able to enable offline LAN, the LAN function STILL needs to be in the game's.exe. | posted 08-08-15 13:09 EST (US) Hey, so i found my copy of stronghold 2 and a cd called stronghold 2 deluxe and i whas like. omg i remember this game from way back and i managed to install it on windows 10 (stronghold 2) so i have been trying to install the deluxe edition but it wont start after instalation (the deluxe and regular one). So does anyone know how i can fix this thing? Also if this is the wrong topic i am really sorry. *after uninstalling stronghold deluxe edition my game broke, idk how to delete this topic but yeah. no reasion to continue. for anyone who is intrested in knowing what happend this is the error. | posted 08-08-15 13:56 EST (US) 1 / 13 Hi, and welcome to Stronghold Heaven. Maybe you could try running the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode or something like that? I haven't used Windows 10 yet, but I hope that could help. Also, you may try patching the game to 1.4.1 version. First you would need to install patch 1.4, and then 1.4.1. This would be good for you if you wanted to play some multiplayer, although I am unsure that this could help regarding this issue. Still, if the first one doesn't help this one is worth to try. Try right clicking the shortcut icon of Stronghold 2 or the exe file of Stronghold 2, and to find an option to run the game in Windows 7 compatibility mode. ..aaand now I read what you said above.. This can be solved easily, and I had a similar issue as well on Windows 7. | posted 08-09-15 03:41 EST (US) 4 / 13 WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT DOWNLOAD .DLL FILES FROM SITES. I can't stress this enough. I'm not really sure what your problem is regarding installation/uninstallation, but I do know sometimes programs can mess up, e.g. once SHCE would not install on my computer because the installer thought that it was installed, even though it wasn't. If that's the kind of issue that is present, you might need to go into the registry to fix that kind of thing. |

He was able to install it, but he cannot run the game, if I am correct? So then you should be able to install it again. @OP: More details, please? | posted 08-09-15 14:21 EST (US) 7 / 13 Thanks, heard about CCleaner before, surely would have saved me the hour or two I had to spend manually editing the registry I've also had a similar problem before with the Art Manager in Titan Quest, where the program wouldn't start because it said that mfc71.dll was missing from my system. All I had to do was copy the .dll from win/sys32 to the TQ folder. In this case, however, binkw32.dll should already be in the SH2 folder. Unfortunately, that's about all I know. |

| posted 08-15-15 06:03 EST (US) 9 / 13 Duke, i honestly dont know, i know i have 3 disks that i found in a old box that i whas cleaning Stronghold 2 disk 1 Stronghold 2 disk 2 Stronghold deluxe. And i have a bit of knowledge of computers, i didnt download files, the disk should have everything needed. one thing that should be noted is that there are no scratches or anything on the disk. so i cant be a damaged disk thats for sure. After some doing things, i managed to get stuff installed and it works now. We can ask a question of someone else had a problem running Stronghold 2 on Windows 7, but I still wouldn't recommend installing Windows 10 yet. For example I have read that Settlers 7 has issues with Windows 10, and I guess that's not a lonely case. If you care only about Stronghold 2 and no other game, and you hear that others didn't have any problems, then you could install Windows 10.
